Storm Technical

We would like share that our Heat Treatment Services has recently performed gas firing at one of our client site.

We have a complete team and equipment to perform Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) Refractory dry out PreHeating. We are also the sole distributor in SEA for CooperHeat Products.

PWHT is essential for ensuring the longevity, safety, and reliability of welded structures in high-stress, high-temperature or corrosive environments.

PWHT is a thermal process applied to welded materials to enhance their mechanical properties and relieve residual stresses induced during welding. It is crucial in industries such as petrochemical, power generation and pressure vessel construction, where maintaining material integrity is essential.

PWHT Process Steps are as follows:
Heating: The welded component is heated at a controlled rate to the desired temperature.
Holding: The component is held at this temperature for a specific period (holding time depends on material thickness and type).
Cooling: The component is cooled at a controlled rate, often in air or in a furnace, depending on the desired mechanical properties.
